The Role of the Therapist

All health professionals have a duty of care, ethically, morally and professionally to provide only safe and effective treatments. Therefore, like all forms of medical treatment, the chosen pathway(s) should be justified and based on clinical research evidence. The role of a Massage therapist is to deliver safe and effective treatment to meet the patient’s specific needs. The therapist’s role may involve pre or post injury prevention and massage in the treatment and rehabilitation of activity or sports injuries.

At the No.1 Pain Relief Clinic we use a combination of manual and mechanical techniques complimented by stretching exercise. This is combined with continual Evidence Based Practice and an in-depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology to achieve optimum effects for pain relief.

Nicholas Mulryan - Therapist

Prior to a treatment a full assessment and examination will be performed to identify the areas of restriction please see patient information, Examination and Assessment for further details. This assists the therapist to assess the whole body to see where the problem areas may have occurred.

The treatment plan is based around these findings gathered and any information the patient has given during the initial consultation. Generally a series of sessions are often recommended though this is not always necessary depending on the severity of the problem and how long it has been present. The longer the problem has been present or more severe it is the more work that is likely to be required.

If you would like further information on the specific benefits of a particular treatment, please feel free to contact the clinic to discuss your health issues confidentially with one of our therapists.

His knowledge of anatomy was incredible. ...The pain I experienced disappeared almost instantly after I left the treatment room and has been a lot better since... Thanks Nick!
